I have been believing God to provide me with what was needed to cover our stay for an entire week tomorrow. While there has been a mountain of confirmation that the Lord would satisfy this request, there has equally been a mountain of problems that have made my prayer request seem impossible.
The day started out fresh with confident faith and trust. However, after a while, fear and weariness started to gang up on me. I walked to the store to buy a couple of snacks for our room. As I started the long hike back, I began to break down in tears because I was feeling overwhelmed by the problems.
By the time I made it back to the room, I was a complete mess. I took my eyes off of My promises and I started to focus on the mountainous problems in front of me and all of the fears of the bad things that could go wrong. I was drowning in doubt and loathing my life. So there I was…sobbing on the floor with snot running down my face. When I finally stopped bawling my eyes out, Holy Spirit reminded me about the secret He revealed to me earlier this week.
It was in a dream. The Lord said to me that the secret having a life of abundance, from John 10:10, was to take ownership of the peace that is revealed in Isaiah 54:10.
Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
The Lord began to show me that no matter what kind of problems or impossibilities have us surrounded, His promise of unfailing love would never change or be moved. His promise to give us rest in His Sovereign power is our ultimate source of peace. His promise to provide for us and protect us through His unrelenting love would never change, even if everything else around us were to change.
The thief does not come except to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10 NKJV
Long before I ever began this crazy faith adventure, the Lord gave me a promise in a vision of the night. He showed me that He would fill my bank account with money from His love. Later, He led me to some research that explained that an ancient Hebrew meaning of Love was “to provide and protect what is given as a privilege”. One of the many facets of His love is to provide and to protect. (“Ancient Hebrew Dictionary” Mr. Brenner).
I share this with you, in hopes that it will encourage you to activate the abundant life promised by taking complete ownership of the unfailing love of God to provide and protect, even in the most difficult and impossible looking situations. For the rest of this evening, I plan to soak in Isaiah 54:10 and allow the love of Jesus to settle over the shaking from the mountains of problems and the fears that tremble and shake. Peace be with you!
