Flying on Hope

There was a time at the most recent hotel stay, when God graced us with the help of my adult daughter. She stayed with us briefly and during that time we had the blessing of using her car to get the things that we need. When the time came that my daughter was going to be leaving in her car, I was struck with dread about what would come next. The weather was starting to get freezing cold with ice and snow.

I had instant worries about how we would be able to get our groceries and needs taken care of. I also had worries about what would happen if we didn’t have the money we needed and had to check out. I had to be able to trust that God would take care of us by sending us a little extra money for Ubers and that He would not subject us to being evicted into the frigid cold. More than anything, I had to lean into Hope. After all, hope is the stuff that faith is made of.

Faith means being sure of the things we hope for.

And faith means knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.

Hebrews 11:1 ICB

The good news is that what I hoped for was exactly what happened. God provided me with what I needed to use an Uber to get our groceries and we never had to check out and be tossed onto the streets of ice and snow. Yet here I am again, facing similar circumstances as we prepare to go to the next hotel. It is much smaller and there is not a front lobby or recreational room where we could find shelter. If we were forced to check out for financial reasons, we would literally be on the street freezing, since we don’t have a vehicle yet. However, God has given me promises of provision and if God says something then it is already done.

I plan to prepare for our next transition by lifting myself up with good and hope-filled thoughts in order to move by faith. Change can be scary when we don’t know what is ahead. One of the definitions of hope is ‘to trust’. To be sure of what we hope for is to be confident and I desperately need my hopes to come true. One night the Holy Spirit gave me a dream encounter about flying on hope. In the dream, I had to fly up with white wings and dive into a large body of water. I was facing backward, so I had to trust God even though I couldn’t see what was ahead.

As I lifted up to fly above my problems, the Lord spoke to me that it wasn’t the wings that made me fly, it was the positive, hope-filled thoughts. I could see the dark appearance of ‘fears’ in the water, but after I was in the water, I was able to see that those fears were only fake and I pushed them to the side. To think a negative outcome is to think a doubt. We can have what we pray for if we believe and do not doubt.

Brothers, continue to think about

the things that are good and worthy of praise.

Think about the things that are true and honorable

and right and pure and beautiful and respected.

Philippians 4:8 ICB

The movement comes from confidence. The enemy tries to get us to think negative thoughts of fear, in order to keep us from achieving those things that we hope for. But it is God’s heart to give us those things that we hope for and grant the desires of our heart. To believe in your hopes is what makes you unstoppable.

During one of my nights of training with the Holy Spirit, He took me up so high in the sky, where the earth meets outer space. In this encounter, He told me that I could fly as high as I wanted to, as long as I don’t look down. This meant that if I would have thoughts of faith and not look down with doubt, that I could have whatever I was asking Him for! There are absolutely NO limitations on God. He can and will meet us at our level of faith.

“Let it happen, then, just as you believe!”– Matthew 9:29 GNT

My prayer for you today is that you would be able to use your hope-filled thoughts to lift up high with faith. Faith is like the wings that carry you, but hopeful thoughts are what lift you up to the place where Heaven meets your sky. I pray for protection in your mind against the negative, doubtful or fearful thoughts that may come. Above all, I pray that you would be able to fly up on hope and be empowered by faith to receive the answers to your prayers!
